Why am I in the business?

I started my adventure with computers when I was 8 years old (mostly playing PitStop on my friend's brand new Atari). Fortunately my uncle was IT academic teacher and seeing my passion for anything with processors he started to teach me programming. Thanks to that after primary school I knew with utmost clarity what will I do for the rest of my life. I finished the High School with extended IT curriculum, and made a MoA (IT in Education). After uni I got a job in TV station as a graphic designer, digital film editor and finally as a 3d/2d animator. Unfortunately, like many enterprises in early polish capitalism that TV station didn't last long. I had to make my live from freelancing and awards for graphic contests, but after a year I decided to come to Scotland.

It was a big step into unknown. I was sure it will not be easy to get into the IT business here so for two years I was working in different warehouses and factories. In meantime I worked as a freelancer for local small businesses and studied programming at Edinburgh University. Finally I've been given a chance to work in IT and I'm progressing since then. Two years ago I wrote few flash games and that is how FlashDistillery came to live. At the beginning it was offering the branded flash games, but recently Flash technology have been discarded. That is why I switched to creating websites. It is easier, more financially rewarding and it gives almost similar feeling of a challenge.
