What is a SEO?

If you want to make your website noticable within the search engines like Google or Yahoo you need to construct it in a way that that will let them to categorise your content correctly. Two most important factors are relevant:

keywords and keyphrases within your website's content

proper constructed link structure.

Additional factors are freshness of your content, quality of links leading to your website, proper description of your graphic components and other niceties.

All those aspects will not boost you to the highest spot anyway. All search engines needs time to categorise your websit properly. Even if you have everything in place, done right by the book, it can still take a whole year to get to the first page of google search.

And remember, don't use any dodgy SEO boosting companies which promise you hundreds of links connecting to your website. They are just not worth it, even if they would be free. The quality of those links is usually so poor, that Google could ban you completely from the search results.

So four key elements: Keywords, Links, Content, to make the google robots happy and lots of Patience to avoid throwing your monitor out of the window.
